Garden Clearance in Bletchley

Bletchley is where our First Avenue base sits, so it is the shortest run we do and the one that suits short-notice work best. The built-up area recorded 45,010 residents at the 2021 census.

It was a small village on the 1884–85 Ordnance Survey map with a few scattered hamlets, and everything since has been layered on top: the station arrived in 1838 on the London and Birmingham Railway, branch lines to Bedford in 1846 and Buckingham in 1850 made it a junction town, and the big expansion came after the Second World War — the urban district was already 30,642 people by 1971.

That layering is what matters for a clearance. Interwar and post-war estate housing is the bulk of it: consistent layouts, gardens front and back, reasonable doorways, and lofts that hold more than people expect. Older railway-era terraces mean narrower frontages and on-street parking instead.

Getting around is easy by the grid roads — Watling Street (V4), Saxon Street (V7) and Standing Way (A421), with the A5 and A4146 alongside. Bletchley Park, home of the wartime Government Code and Cypher School and now a museum, sits in West Bletchley; parts of the site have been sold for housing.
